well,the international year of pulses (IYP) is 2016.The 68TH UN assembly has decided to declare 2016 as the international year of pulses. the FAO has also helped it a lot .

The 68th UN General Assembly declared 2016 the International Year of Pulses (IYP). The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has been nominated to facilitate the implementation of the Year in collaboration with Governments.
