Answer:

because opposite sides are equal

x +7 = y + 8

x-y = 1

x+y = 3x-2y

3y = 2x

y = 2x/3 putting the in previous equation

x - 2x/3 = 1

x/3 = 1

x = 3

y = x-1 = 2

as we know that length of both side of a rectangle and breadth of both side of a rectangle are always equal

so X + 7 i=Y + 8

x - y = 1  \:  \: . \:..  \:...  \:( 1) \\ x + y = 3 {}x - 2y \\ 2x = 3y \\ x =  \frac{3y}{2}  \\ put \: value \: of \: x \:  in \:  (1) \\  \frac{3y}{2}  - y = 1 \\ y = 2 \\ so x = 3 \\ b = y + 8 = 10 \\ l = x + y = 2 + 3 = 5
