Temprature of liquid does not change during evaporation because the heat taken by the water from the surrounding is used to convert the state of water from liquid to gas by increasing kinetic energy among the molecules and this kinetic energy increases the inter molecular space .Thus changing the state of water .Therefore there no rise in temprature of water.

The evaporation is a process through which the liquid molecules absorbs the heat energy and get vaporized.

Explanation:

  • Kinetic energy of molecules increases with increase in temperature because the collisions increases and heat is generated to increase the temperature.
  • During the evaporation process the liquid molecules particularly on the surface gets converted into gas by absorbing heat.
  • The kinetic energy in the molecules increases and with the increase in temperature the collision between the water molecules also increases, the heat so generated increase the temperature of the liquid.
