Given,

Mean of 10 numbers = M

If 5 is added to each number,

Then mean = 12.5

Let, sum of 10 terms be S.

Mean =$\frac{ Sum\:\: of\:\: observations}{ number\:\: of \:\:observations}$

According to the problem,

→ 12.5 = $\frac{S+ (10 \times 5)}{10}$

→ 12.5 × 10 = S + 50

→ 125 - 50 = S

→ S = 75

Therefore,

sum of original numbers = 75
