Heya,

====================

This type of question can be best answered by a simple method, Add them once and subtract them

====================

3p + 2q = 12............(1) \\ 2p + 3q = 13.............(2)

Adding equation (1) and (2), we get

5p + 5q = 25 \\  =  > p + q = 5

Let us subtract them now

p - q =  - 1

Now, add this two equations to get

2p = 4 =  \\ p =  \frac{4}{2}  = 2

put p = 2 in any these equations to get

q = 3

Hence,

p = 2, q = 3.
