Let me explain first with an example :

Suppose a woman is Rh-negative and she may become sensitive if she carries an Rh - positive child in her womb . This especially occurs when the husband is Rh-positive .

The first Rh-positive child is normal but it has a chance of sensitizing the mother .

The second Rh-positive child if conceived soon may have problem even leading to death of foetus and abortion.

This is an example of Rh-incompatibility .

Rh stands for Rhesus as it was first discovered in Rhesus monkey

If the blood of the Rh-positive man is transfused to Rh-negative man and again if the blood is transfused to another Rh-negative man , then a reaction occurs with the transfused blood which may lead to death .

This is Rh-incompatible
