Answer: Due to developmental activities, the forests are being destroyed. This is the reason for depletion of rainforests.

Paddy is grown in the Ganga-Brahmaputra plains. Because rice requires sufficient amount of water to grow.

:-This is so because these forests are commercially exploited for human consumption like furniture,where sandalwood and timber being at great demand is used in our country and abroad for aromatic uses.
