Decomposition of substance by using electricity is termed as electrolytic decomposition
For example :-
(1) Electrolysis of water is the decomposition of water into oxygen and hydrogen gas because of an electric current being passed through the water.
(2) NaCl molecule will dissociate in electrolysis process

⭐️a chemical decomposition reaction produced by passing current through a solution containg ions is called electric decomposition reaction.
example is⬇️
➡️1. the extraction of aluminum from bauxite.The reaction is given as under:2Al2O3 -- 4Al + 3O2
➡️2. when electricity is passed in a solution of Na-Cl and water NaCl is broken in ions Na + and Cl -.
