Answer:

i) Solids are rigid because of the intermolecular forces of attraction present in the solid.  The intermolecular forces existing among the constituent particles of solid are very strong. That’s why the particles of solid cannot move from their positions, they only vibrate about their mean positions.

ii) The liquids and gases have a property to flow i.e., the molecules of liquids and gases can easily move fast and tumble over one another freely. Because of their tendency to flow, these have been categorized as fluids.

iii) To convert a gas into liquid we have to just decrease the temperature below critical temperature and increase the pressure applied on that gas. In this way the gas shall change its state from gaseous to liquid. This process requires heavy machineries.

Your Answer.......✍✍✍

i)Solids are regid as it has high intermolecular forces which binds its all particles together.

ii)Liquid and gases can flow hence they called as fluid.

iii)Gases can be liquified after compressing it with high pressure.
