During the Roman era, it is said that March was the beginning month if the year. Then in 46 BC Julius Caesar created the Julian calendar, and New year started to be celebrated on todays day. But, even Caesar couldn't clarify the day. People used to get confused between the day and celebrated new year around 1 Jan, but not on the correct day. Then, in 1582, Pope Gregory XIII implemented the Gregorian calendar and made an effort to clarify New Year's Day.
Nowadays, Jan. 1 is almost universally recognized as the beginning of the new year.
✨ We celebrate New year's by organising parties, spending time with our family, enjoying ourselves, etc.
✨New Year celebrated all over the world with great enthusiasm.

It marks the first day of the year on the modern Gregorian calendar as well as the Julian calendar. In pre-Christian Rome under the Julian calendar, the day was dedicated to Janus, god of gateways and beginnings, for whom January is also named.
✨New year is all about entering into a new year and start new as well.
✨Samoa and Kiritimati (Christmas Island), part of Kiribati, are the first places to welcome the New Year.
