CONSERVATION MEASURE TO CHECK LAND DEGRADATION:
sum of conservative measures to check Land Degradation are the following
1) COUNTER PLOUGHING :
by this method the fields are ploughed and sown along the natural counter of The Hills instant up and down the slopes this prevents the rain water from flowing down the hill it stands in the level furrow and soaks into the ground
show the plants receive more water this is suitable for afforestation and grassland development work
2) TERRACING:
by this method a series of white steps are made along the slope following the counter this method is very common in Asian countries and regions of rice cultivation
3)STRIP CROPPING:
in this method the cover crops such as grasses and the small grains are planted alternatively with cultivated crops these cover crops observe the motion and hold the surface called together
4) PLANTING OF SHELTER BELTS:
this measure is adopted in the case of wind erosion belts of trees and the shops area planted to check the velocity of the wind and this is topsoil movement
5) PLUGGING OF GULLIES :
this is done by building dance of stones or fixing the wire netting or planting trees across the gullies these measures check the flood water and so cause feeling of silt in the gullies
6) FALLOWING:
this is allowing the much used land to rest or life follow so that the natural forces can act on the soil
7) CROP ROTATION :
to grow different crops on the same level this prevents the crop from existing one kind of mineral nutrition in soil
for example potatoes require much Potash but wheat requires nitrate this is the best to alternate crops in the fields
8) USE OF FERTILIZERS:
use of fertilizers is another way of soil conservation formers all over the world are not using the chemical fertilizers along with the organic manure and fertilizers are easier to use and help anonymously in the growth of agriculture
