heres the answer:-

root mean square velocity of the gas molecules is = root3 RT / M
so when the tempreature is increased to 3 times then the 
root mean square velocity increases to root 3 times.

As we know that the root mean square velocity is directly proportional to the root of absolute temperature

so as given in question that that absolute temperature is increased by 3 times

therefore square of velocity also increases .
