charge on electron = charge on proton = e = 1.6 × 10^-19 C

mass of electron , m = 9.1 × 10^-31 kg

mass of proton , M = 1.67 × 10^-27 kg

distance between electron and proton, r = 1 A° = 10^-10 m

so, electrostatic force = ma where, a is acceleration of electron.

or, ke²/r² = ma

or, a = ke²/mr²

= 9 × 10^9 × (1.6 × 10^-19)²/{9.1 × 10^-31 × (10^-10)²}

= 9 × 10^9 × 2.56 × 10^-38/{9.1 × 10^-31 × 10^-20

= 2.53 × 10^(9 - 38 + 31 + 20)

= 2.53 × 10^22 m/s²

hence, acceleration of electron is 2.53 × 10²² m/
