Explain the story in the predicament of the war

EXPLANATION:

The story is based on the survivors of the war. It explains that for the survivors who struggled during the war, has to suffer after the war too. Their pain, anger, torture and humiliation is beautifully explained in the chapter named ‘The address’.

The narrator lost her mother which was an incomparable loss apart from the other sufferings. Even when she went to her native town to get the belongings and other things of her mother, the lady named Mrs. Dorling did not behave well and was so much indifferent to her. Ultimately, she had to leave her mother’s things. She was alone and tired of suffering.
