age of father is 7x
PRESENT AGES (we must ad 3 because 3 years after past is present)
age of son = x+3
age of father = 5(x+3) = 5x + 15
past age + 3 = present age
father past age = 7x
acc to past fathers present age is 7x+3
fathers present age (given in the question) = 5x + 15
if we equate both the given ages of father,
7x + 3 = 5x + 15
7x - 5x = 15 - 3
2x = 12
x = 12/2
x = 6
therefore,
son past age = x = 6 years
fathers past age 7x = 42 years
son present age = x + 3 = 9 years
fathers present age = 45 years
