\textbf {\underline {\underline {step-By-step\:Explanation:}}}

\huge\underline\green {\tt Solution:}

First of all, arrange the given ages in ascending order.

We get,

21, 24, 26, 27, 33, 36, 42, 43

Now,

It is observed that the above series contains even numbers ( 8 )

So,

For even numbers,

 =  \frac{add \: two \: middle \: ages}{2}

  =  \: \frac{27 + 33}{2}

 =  \frac{60}{2}

= 30

Therefore,

Answer : The median age is 30 years.

Additional Information :

● For odd series, the middle term is known as the median number.

SOLUTION:-

Given:

The ages in year of 8 teachers in a school are 24,27,43,36,42,33,21,26.

To find:

The median age.

Explanation:

  • The values of variate are arranged in ascending order.
  • The middle most value is taken as median.

Formula:

If the number of terms are even, then

Median=\frac{\frac{n}{2}th\: term+(\frac{n}{2} +1)th\: term }{2}

According to the question:

Ascending Order: 21,24,26,27,33,36,42,43

&

Median= \frac{\frac{8}{2}th \: term+(\frac{8}{2}+1) th \: term }{2} \\\\\frac{4th\: term+5th \:term}{2}

\frac{27+33}{2} \\\\\frac{60}{2} \\\\30

Thus,

The median age is 30.
