and multiply 5×7=35....nd 5×9=45
in 10 yrs the ratio increased by 2. so divide 10/2 =5. and now multiply 5 with the ratios you will get the ans..
i hv used 2.5 as jst half of 5.
so at the last i multiplies the age by 2.

Given

s/m = 7/5 ....(1)
ten years hence the ratio of their ages will be 9:7
Note: " Ten years hence" means after 10 years
s+10 / m+10 = 9 / 7 ....(2)
from eq(1)
s =7m / 5
from eq(2) by cross multiplying
7(s+10) = 9(m+10)
7s + 70 = 9m + 90
7s = 9m +20
put s=7m / 5 in above equation
7*7m/5 = 9m + 20
49m/5 - 9m = 20
m (49/5 - 9) = 20

m = 25
from eq(1)
s/m = 7/5
s= 7m/5 = 35
Their present ages are
Sonal = s = 35 years
Manoj = m = 25 years
