Let the present age of x and y be 3x and 7x.
According to the question
3x+7/ 7x+7= 11/21
⇒21(3x+7)= 11(7x + 7)
⇒63x+147= 77x+77
⇒63x-77x= 77-147
⇒-14x= -70
⇒x=70/14
Thus,x=5
Hence, present age of x = 3x= 3*5=15
and present age of y= 7x= 7*5= 35
