Data:
Angular Momentum = L = 31.4 Js
Angular frequency = ν = 10 rps
Moment of inertia = I = ?
Solution:
As,
ω = 2 π v
Substituting the values, we get:
ω = 2 x 3.14 x 10
ω = 62.8 rad/sec
Now,
L = I ω
I = L / ω
Again substituting the values, we get:
I = 31.4 / 62.8
I = 0.5 kg m²
which is the required answer.
Hopefully it helps. Thanks.
