THE answer should be like this ; the indian constitution all person equal. This means that every indiviual in the country irrespective of his or her caste , creed ,religion ,educational and ecnomic background is recognized as equal. Although , inequality still exist in the country, yet the principal of the equality of all persons is recoinced . While ealier no law existed to protect from discrimination and ill treatment . Now there are several laws that work to see that people are treated with dignity .
