Given :

Area of circle = 36 feet^2

To find :

Circumference = ?

Solution :

As we know that ....

$area \: of \: circle \: = \pi {r}^{2}$

$= \pi {r}^{2} = 36$

$= {r}^{2} = 36 \times \frac{7}{22}$

$= {r}^{2} = 11.45$

$= r = 3.38$

Then ,

$circumference \: = 2\pi \: r$

$= 2\pi \: r = 2 \times \frac{22}{7} \times 3.38$

$circumference \: = 21.24$

since,area of any circle is given by πr^2.

I.e;

πr^2=36feet^2.

therefore r=√(36/π)=11.46 feet.

& in the end...

circumference of the given circle is 2πr=2×π×11.46

=>circumference=72 feet. is the required answer.
