  • Area of rectangle = Area of square

  • Length(l) of rectangle = 25cm

  • Breadth(b) of rectangle = 16cm

 \\  \\ \large\underline{ \underline{ \sf{ \red{to \: find:} }}}  \\  \\

  • Side of square.

We know ,

 \\   \bigstar\boxed{ \bf \: area \: of \: rectangle = l \times b } \\  \\

→ Area of rectangle = 25 × 16

Area of rectangle = 400cm²

We know , Area of rectangle = Area of square

Hence ,

Area of square = 400cm².

 \\  \bigstar \boxed{ \bf \:area \: of \: square =  {side}^{2}  } \\  \\

400 = side²

side = √400

side = 20cm

Hence , side of the square is 20cm.

QuestioN :

The area of a rectangle and a square are equal . if the length of the rectangle is 25cm and the breadth is 16cm. find the side of the square.

GiveN :

The area of a rectangle and area of a square are equal.

The rectangle-

  • Its length (l) = 25 cm
  • Its breadth (b) = 16 cm

To FiNd :

The side of the square.

ANswer :

The side of the square is 20cm

SolutioN :

We know that,

Area of the rectangle = l × b.

So, Put the Values.

➠ Area of rectangle = 25 × 16 sq.cm.

➠ Area of rectangle = 400 sq.cm.

Now, We know that,

Area of Square = side × side.

According to the given question,

Area of rectangle = Area of square.

➠ side × side = 400 sq.cm.

➠ side² = 400 sq.cm.

➠ side = 20 cm.

∴Hence, Side of square is 20 cm.
