Answer:

(A) 12 meter

(B) 44 meter

(C) £ 330

(D) £ 720

Step-by-step explanation:

(a) Area of rectangle = Lenght ×Width

⇒ 120 = Length × 10

⇒ Length = 120÷10

⇒ Length = 12 meter

(B) Perimeter of garden (rectangle) = 2×(length + width)

⇒ Perimeter of garden (rectangle) = 2×(12+10)

⇒ Perimeter of garden (rectangle) = 2×22

⇒  Perimeter of garden (rectangle) = 44 meter

(C) We know that the fencing is done around the garden which is also the perimeter of it,

Hence, Cost of fencing the garden at £ 7.50 per meter = Perimeter × £ 7.50

⇒ £ 330

(D) We know that in order to cover the carpeting we have to take the area of garden which is given as 120 square meter.

And, The cost of carpeting by grass per sq. meter is £6.

So, The total cost of carpeting by grass of the garden = Area × £6

                                                                                             ⇒ 120 × £6

                                                                                             ⇒ £720.
