Area of square = 100 cm^2

Side × Side = 100 cm^2

Side^2 = 100 cm^2

Side = 10

Hence length of each side of square is 10 cm .

Given:

  • Area of the square = 100 cm^2

To Find:

  • The length of each side of the square.

Solution:

  • We know that the area of a square = side*side = side^2 = a*a
  • a^2 = area of the square → (1)
  • Where 'a' is the side of the square.
  • Substitute the value of the area in equation (1) we get
  • a^2 = 100
  • a = √100 = 10 cm (The length of all the sides of a square are equal)

∴The length of each side of the square is 10 cm.
