The mass of 3 dictionaries and 2 textbooks is 8 kg. The mass of 3 dictionaries and 3 textbooks is 9 kg. Find the mass of 5 textbooks. solution?

let the no. of dictionary be (x )
no. of text book be (y)
now by above info.
two eq. can be formed
3x + 2y = 8. and
3x + 3y = 9
now by elimination method
y = 1 = mass of 1 text book
i.e. mass of 5 textbooks =5
