let, the length of the other side be a.

we know,

1\2(a+10)(8)=176

or,(a+10)=(176)(2)\8

or,a=44-10

or,a=34

therefore, the length of the other side is 34cm.

The area of a trapezium is 176. The length of other side is 34 cm

Solution:

Given, the area of a trapezium is 176 cm^{2}

The distance between its parallel sides is 8 cm

And one of the parallel sides is of length 10 cm.

We have to find the length of the other side.

Let the length of other side be "x"

We know that, area of the trapezium =\frac{(a+b)}{2} h

Where, "a" and "b" are two parallel sides lengths and "h" is distance between two parallel sides.

Substituting the values we get,

\text { area of trapezium }=\frac{x+10}{2} \times 8

\begin{array}{l}{176=(x+10) \times 4} \\\\ {x+10=\frac{176}{4}} \\\\ {x+10=44} \\\\ {x=44-10=34}\end{array}

Hence, the length of other side is 34 cm.
