The area of a trapezium is 768cm^2.its altitude is 16cm and one of the parallel sides is 10cm longer than the other. find the length of the parallel sides

Given

Area of trapezium(A) =768cm ²

Altitude (h) =16cm

Let One of the parallel side(d1) = x

Then other side (d2) =x+10

As we know area of trapezium = h/2 ( sum of parallel side)

=h/2 (d1+ d2)

768=16/2 (x+x+10)

768=8(2x+10)

768/8=2x+10

96=2x+10

2x=96-10

X=86/2


X=43cm

Length of one side =43cm

Length of other side =43+10=53cm
