Length of rectangle = Let be L1 = x
Breadth of rectangle = Let be B1 = y
Area of rectangle = xy
After increasing length and breadth,
New length = L2 = x + 5
New breadth = B2 = y - 3
New area = L2 * B2
= ( x + 5 ) ( y - 3 )
= x ( y - 3 ) + 5 ( y - 3 )
= xy - 3x + 5y - 15
Hence New Area of rectangle is xy - 3x + 5y - 15 .
