 \large \tt AHOY!! \:

given perimeter of the rhombus = 48cm

therefore 4 × side = 48cm (since all the sides of a rhombus is equal)

=> side = 48/4

=> side = 12cm

now, there are two formulas for the area of a rhombus. one is '1/2 × d1 × d2' where d1 and d2 are the diogonals of the rhombus and the other one is base × altitude where base is the side of the rhombus.

we will solve here by the second formula since none of the diagonals is given.

the area of the Rhombus is given = 102cm²

therefore 12 × altitude = 102cm²

=> altitude = 102/12

=> altitude = 8.5cm

hence, the distance between the opposite sides is 8.5cm

Perimeter of a rhombus=48 cm
4×Side=48
Side=48/4
Side=12cm
The area of the rhombus=102cm^2
12×altitude=102
altitude=102/12
altitude=8.5 cm
