area of trapezium = 1/2×sum of parallel sides ×distance between them
1586= 1/2×122×h
h=1586×2/122=26

Given : The area of trapezium is 1586 cm² and sum of two parallel sides is 122 cm.

To find : The distance between two parallel sides.

Solution :

We can simply solve this mathematical problem by using the following mathematical process. (our goal is to calculate the distance between two parallel sides)

We know that,

Area of a trapezium = ½ × (Sum of two parallel sides) × Distance between two parallel sides

By, putting the available data, in the above mentioned mathematical formula, we get :

1586 = ½ × (122) × Distance between two parallel sides

Distance between two parallel sides × 61 = 1586

Distance between two parallel sides = 1586/61 = 26 cm

(This will be considered as the final result.)

Hence, the distance between two parallel sides is 26 cm.
