Let’s look at this question in a different manner. Rather than taking 5 different variables, take one variable, in this case c and consider it as the middle element of the 5.

Now, five consecutive odd numbers can be written as: c-4, c-2, c, c+2, c+4. Taking only one variable makes it easier for the calculations.

If you can observe, the middle element will always be the average value.

Solving Mathematically,

Average = (c-4) + (c-2) + c + (c+2) + (c+4) / 5 = 5c / 5 = c

There can be many other ways to solve these type of questions but solving in this manner makes it easier for the calculations and it is not even necessary to do calculations as it is clearly visible.
