Let the four consecutive numbers be x,x+1,x+2,x+3.

Given that average of four consecutive numbers = 49.5.

x + x + 1 + x + 2 + x + 3/4 = 49.5

4x + 6 = 198

4x = 192

x = 192/4

x = 48.

The product of 2nd and last number = (x + 1)(x+3)

                                                              = (48 + 1)(48 + 3)

                                                               = 49 * 51

                                                               = 2499.

Therefore the product of 2nd and last number = 2499.

Hope this helps!
