the boiled leaf showed no change with sugar or salt solution.why?

Hi there
The Leaf which is boiled turned brown or might not be so brownish but actually the boiled Leaf is no at all responding here because the cellulose seems to been boiled completely.
And this might not be reacting with the sugar and the salt solutions and the glucose is converted to starch which might not produce the watchable changes they might takes place in the cell itself in the Leaf.
And the salt or sugar solution enters to the Leaf through stroma and nothing is happening which can be noticed
