Indirect taxes was paid by everyone as it is imposed on the products of daily needs and many items. The direct taxes were paid by the little rich members of the society which includes merchants and also the peasants who were earning. About 90% are peasants. So, we can conclude that about 95% people were paying direct taxes to the sate.
