Answer:

(a)Three reasons because of which rich peasant communities took active participation in the civil disobedience movement were: Being producers of commercial crops, rich peasants were badly hit by trade depression and falling prices.

(b)The peasants joined the Civil Disobedience Movement (1930-34) because poor peasantry were not just interested in the lowering of the revenue demand. Many had rented land. They could not pay rent because of the depression and dwindling cash incomes. They wanted the unpaid rent to landlord remitted.

(c)(i) The business class wanted protection against imports of foreign goods. (ii) They wanted to free the business from colonial restrictions. ... They came to see Swaraj at the time when colonial restrictions on business would no longer exist and trade industry would flourish without constraints.

(d)The main reason for this was that the industrialists came closer to the Congress, artists lingered apart. However, some of the workers actively participated in the movement following the ideas of Gandhi such as boycott and protesting against low wages and poor working conditions.

(e)Large scale participation of women was an important feature of the Civil Disobedience Movement.
