Hey there,
Physical methods are used to separate those substances where there is no change in chemical composition.

But when a compound is formed,it has totally different chemical composition from its constituents.

So,physical methods are not useful to separate such substances.

They can only be separated through chemical or el3ctrochemical reactions.
