Coordinates of C  =  (1 , 3)  if C divides line AB such that AC : CB = 3 : 2 & A , B are  respectively (4 ,- 3) and (-1 , 7)

Step-by-step explanation:

The coordinates of the two points A and B are respectively (4 ,- 3) and (-1 , 7)

point C in the line segment a b such that  AC : CB = 3: 2

Coordinates of C  =   (3(-1)  +  2(4)) /(3 + 2)  , ( 3(7) + 2(-3)) /(3 + 2)

= ( -3 + 8)/5 , ( 21 - 6)/5

= 5/5  , 15/5

= 1 , 3

A = (4 ,- 3)

C = (1 , 3)

B = ( - 1 , 7)

Verification :

AC = √(-3)² + (6)² = √45 = 3√5

CB = √(-2)² + (4)² = √20 = 2√5

AC / CB = 3/2
