Cost of fencing = Perimeter*Rate

32000 = Perimeter * 16

Perimeter= 2000m

Side = Perimeter/4  = 2000/4 = 500m

Area= side^2= 500^2 = 250000m^2

Cost of reaping of 1 m^2= 35/100 Rs.

Cost of reaping of 250000m^2 = 35/100*250000 = Rs. 87500

Given: The cost of fencing a square field at rupees 16 per metre is rupees 32000.

To find: We have to find the cost of reaping the field at rupees 35 per 100-metre square.

Solution:

The cost of fencing a square field at rupees 16 per metre is rupees 32000.

Thus the perimeter of the square field is 32000/16=2000 m.

Thus side of the square is as follows-

4a=2000

a=500

Thus side of the square field is 500m.

The area of the square field is 500×500=250000 square meters.

The cost of reaping of 100 square meters is 35 rupees.

So, the cost of reaping of 250000 square meters will be-

250000 \times  \frac{35}{100}  = 87500

The cost of reaping is 87500 rupees.
