 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: \:  d = 16cm \\  =  > r = 8cm \\  \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: h = 15cm



As we know that,
 \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \: l =  \sqrt{ {r}^{2} + {h }^{2} } \\ =  > l =  \sqrt{ {15}^{2} +  {8}^{2}  } \\  =  > l =  \sqrt{225 + 64} =  \sqrt{789} \\  =  > l = 17cm



Now,
C. S. A  \:  \: of \:  \:  cone = \pi \: rl \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  = \frac{22}{7} \times 8 \times 17 \\  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:   \:  \:  \:  = 427.43 {cm}^{2}.

h = 15cm

d = 16

r = \frac{16}{2}

r = 8

Solution

CSA of a cone = πr\ell

But we dont have the value for \ell

Now,

\ell = \sqrt\mathsf{r^{2} + h^{2}}

\ell = \sqrt\mathsf{8^{2} + 15^{2}}

\ell = \sqrt\mathsf{64 + 225}}

\ell = \sqrt\mathsf{289}}

\ell = 17


CSA of a cone = πr\ell

                        = \frac{22}{7} × 8 × 17

                        = \frac{22}{7} × 136

                        = 427.42 cm²
