Let the daily wage of the person be x

therfore x + 50x / 100 = 25
15x = 250
x =50/3 = 16.6667

Therefore he was getting earlier a daily wage of rupees 16.67

Given:

  • The daily wage is increased by 50\%
  • Person daily wage after increment = Rs 25 /day

To Find:

  • Person's daily wage after increment.

Solution:

Let's assume person's wage before increment =Rs x /day

                       50\%  of x = \frac{50}{100} x

Now, new wage is =   x + \frac{50}{100} x

                               =   \frac{100x + 50x }{100}

                               =    \frac{150x}{100}

                               = \frac{15x}{10}

According to the question

                New wage is  = Rs 25 /day

                                  \frac{15x}{10} = 25

                                 15x = 250

                                    x = \frac{250}{15}

                                    x = 16.66

Thus, The wage before increment is  x = Rs 16.66 / day
