therfore x + 50x / 100 = 25
15x = 250
x =50/3 = 16.6667

Solution:

Let's assume person's wage before increment $=Rs x /day$

                       $50\%$  of x = $\frac{50}{100} x$

Now, new wage is =   $x +$ $\frac{50}{100} x$

                               $=$   $\frac{100x + 50x }{100}$

                               $=$    $\frac{150x}{100}$    

                               $= \frac{15x}{10}$

According to the question

                New wage is  $= Rs 25 /day$

                                  $\frac{15x}{10} = 25$

                                 $15x = 250$

                                    $x = \frac{250}{15}$

                                    $x = 16.66$

Thus, The wage before increment is  $x = Rs 16.66 / day$
