Let us assume, x is the numerator and y is the denominator of the rational number.

Given:

y = x + 2
y - x = 2  -------------1

Also given:

x / (y + 3) = 1/2
2x = y + 3
2x - y = 3 -------------2

Adding equation 1 and equation 2

x = 5 and  y = 2 + x = 2 + 5 = 7

The rational number = 5/7
