Let the fraction be = x/y

If 4 is added to the numerator and 9 to the denominator then the new fraction becomes = x+4/y+9

It is also given that = x+2 = y........................(1)

It is given that,

⇒ 1/2 = x+4/y+9

⇒ y+9 = 2x+8

⇒2x - y = 1..............................(2)

Solving (1) and (2), we get,

2x - y - 1 = 0

x - y + 2 = 0

We get,

-x + 3 = 0

⇒ x = 3

Substituting x = 3 in (1), we get,

3 + 2 = y

⇒ 5 = y

Hence, the fraction is 3/5.
