let the numerator be x and denominator be y

ATQ, x+3 = y -------1

 \frac{x - 3}{y + 2}  =  \frac{1}{5}

On substituting eq1 in above equation

 \frac{x - 3}{x + 5}  =  \frac{1}{5}

5x-15 = x+5

4x= 20

x = 5

y = 8
