A solid bounded by three pairs of parallel plane surfaces is called a paralleopiped or cuboid. If all the edges of a cuboid are equal in lengths it is called a cube.

Length = breadth = height.

The diagonal of the cuboid = sq.root of L^2 + B^2+H^2

The diagonal of the cube = sq.root of L^2+L^2+L^2= sq.root of 3L^2

= √3.L

Diagonal = √12 cm ( given)

√3L = √12

√3L = √4 x √3

L= √4 (Solving )

L = + or - 2

Discarding the negative sign, the length of the edge of cube is 2 cm
