☆QUESTION☆:-

The diagonal of a quadrilateral 30.5 m long,The perpendiculars to the diagonal from the opposite are of vertices are of lengths 8.5m,7.5m.Find the area of the quadrilateral.

☆ANSWER☆:-

•In the given figure ABCD be the quadrilateral in which BD be the diagonal of the quadrilateral and AE and CF be the perpendiculars drawn from vertices to the diagonal BD of the quadrilateral ABCD.

Now It is given that BD=30.5cm

AE=8.5cm ,and CF= 7.5 cm

Now In △ABD ,AE BD

Area of △ABD=1/2×base ×height

Here, base=BD=30.5 and height=AE=8.5

Area of △ABD=1/2×30.5×8.5

=259.25/2 cm²

=129.625 (approx.)cm²

Now In △BCD,CFBD

Area of △BCD=1/2×base ×height

Here,base=BD=30.5cm and height=CF=7.5cm

Area of △BCD=1/2×30.5×7.5

=228.75/2 cm²

=114.375(approx.) cm²

Now Area of □ ABCD= Area of △ABD+Area of △BCD

⇛(129.625+114.375)cm²

244 cm²

Area of the quadrilateral is 244 cm² .
