Pythagoras Theorem states that,

 {a}^{2}  +  {b}^{2}  =  {c}^{2}

 2 {a}^{2}  =  {6}^{2}

 {a}^{2}  =  {18}

a =  \sqrt{18} cm

Therefore,

Area of Square

 =  { \sqrt{18} }^{2}

 = 18 {cm}^{2}
