Let the side of square =x

Then, by Pythagoras theorem,

x²+x²=24²

2x²=576

x²=576/2

x²=288. ----------1equation

Then,

Area of square =side²

Here, area of square =x²

Putting the value of x² from 1equation

Then,

Area of square =288cm²
