The red blood cells or the RBC’s will lack their strength or will not be able to function properly as it contains a pigment called haemoglobin which requires iron to function effectively. The main function of haemoglobin in red blood cells is that they have high attraction towards oxygen so once oxygen is taken in, it will be combined with haemoglobin in RBC’s so lack of iron in the body will reduce the combining capacity of haemoglobin, due to this, the cells will not get sufficient oxygen to function causing anemia, headaches, dizziness etc..
Hope this helps you
