The diagrams below show pins suspended from the same magnet to their maximum limit in two different cases. State with a reason whether the set of pins A or the set of pins B are made out of soft iron. Also define the magnetic process which enables us to suspend the pins one below the other.

Answer:
As we can see the condition given is they are the same magnet that is they are having the sam strength but we can see that the there are 3 pins all together in pin A and there are 2 pins in set B so (and condition given is suspended from the same magnet to their *maximum limit*. So the question arises how does possible? Went to magnets are having same strength the answer is the set of p a are made up of soft iron as electric current is being passed in the set of p a hence it is more powerful than the set of pins when two magnets are having same strength the answer is the set of pens a are made up of soft iron as electric current is being passed in the set of pins A hence it is more powerful than the set of twins be B.
(The diagram missing in the question is attached in the answer tab)
The pin A is made of soft iron and the principle which enables this is magnetzation
- Soft iron can be easily magnetized easily and the strength of magnetization is high as shown in figure A.
- we can see that the pins are acting like magnets. The ends of pins which are closer to north pole are acting as south poles.
- The ends of pins which are away from the north pole are acting as north poles, due to this the pins can hang one below the other and the process is called magnetization.
- The pins gets magnetized with north pole of one pin connected to south pole of other pin .
