surface area of sphere = 4πr²
ratio of surface area= 4πr1² / 4πr2²
[4π will get cancelled] → (r1)²/ (r2)²
= (x/8)² ÷ (x/2)²
=(x²/64) ÷ (x²/4)
=(x²/64) × (4/x²) [x² gets cancelled out]
=4/64
=1/16
hence, ratio= 1:16
